Probably not a whole lot you don't already know. There wasn't a lot of info coded into the serial number, back then. It says your truck is a 1950 F3 with the 239 V8 engine. If you can find a series of letters and numbers hand stamped into the firewall on the engine side, there is more info that can be gleaned from that.
First, my welcome to Gabe. I replied to Gabe earlier on his Visitor Message and linked the old thread with the VIN split between the 49s and 50s. Hope we see some pics of his F-3. He asked too about the handling of his widow makers which says he’s done much of his homework on his truck. When he’s ready we can go into wheel solutions. Stu
I read your 4 options for my replacing my wheels before I ever got the truck. I am going to try to do what the guy did and send the to Stockton Wheels to have the centers cut out and put in new barrels. Though talking to them today they may not do it. So I may be on to looking for theold Ford, Dodge, or Studebakers.
Yeah, the “new normal” has put the screws to a lot of things. I’ll be eager to hear if you have success with Stockton. And I guess yard searches are still an option. Stu
If you get a chance, post a picture of your firewall stamp. Sometimes they're hard to make out but we've sorted thru a bunch of "impossible" stampings.
So far, 3 is exterior color Black. Thanks
Tim
Best I can make out the firewall stamp is 3P E (really looks like a backwards 3) 97 2979 406
Does your truck have the Patent Plate on the Passenger on the firewall... For Branch does it have SP? That would change the first 3 would be a S... SP would be Saint Paul, MN.

This is the stamping we need. Do you mean the E looks like a backwards 3 or the next character looks that way. If so the next one is likely 8 for a May 8, 1950 assembly date.
Your original color doesn't look like it was ever painted over, so black is out. I agree with Moe that the first characters are SP. We may be able to determine assembly date, but the rest of the string above is typical for late SP trucks.
