I've been trolling around for a while since getting my 97 f150 standard cab 4.6 liter 4x4. I drove it about 4 1/2 years. It had 205,000 miles on it when I got it. Had 254,000 when it layed down. It's not done just had back surgery. But that truck changed my mind on what is the best make of vehicle. I just bought a 2001 King Ranch screw with 240,000 miles. Runs great, has a few problems but I have plenty of time on my hands, I'm a disabled vet so I'm on a limited budget. So I guess this is hello.

Thanks for the welcome. It is completely amazing at the knowledge that so many of the members have and the passion for there Fords. I'll post pics later of both trucks. The 97 f150 setup for 5 years. It was given to me to get it out of the way put 5 gallons of gas a battery and it cranked right up. I was bit by the Ford bug right then. I put some money in it. Even put new bearings, seals, breke pads and wheel cylinders in the rear end a week before it started running really rough and I bought the King Ranch to get back and forth to the doctor until I am able to work on it.

YOUNG AS I FEEL, SEMI-HIPPIE THAT HAS BEEN OFF. Now coming back slowly 2 reality and feels GOOD, brought COSMOS with me...........
Seriously, I am having some rough times and things r slowly getting better. Some r worse but am happier as a whole.
Having been a GM person mostly (Former 66 Mustang Owner),
I wandered upon a neglected 114" F100 some say 103
Anyway it was boom, boom and had very short test drive around big parking lot and after unjaming column gearshift lock-up and during sudden thunderstorm, and haggling, my girl bought me the stray truck. I say stray because at first I was going to rat-rod it out and make a flatbed out of it not really caring much about truck..........well just like my many STRAYS it grew on me and it would take an enormous amount of something for me to part with my beloved TRUCK
I have studied for more than 2 years, during hardships and no money and trying to navigate this site, countless books and mags.........so now I feel ready to tackle my project whole-heartly!!!
Have been chasing no brake lights & back-up found that 2 b shorted reverse switch or something related that melted wire @ fuse box.
Truck is now partially apart, and i just posted that started it after 2 years sitting and now leaks oil badly, more troubles but I am so happy it started and I am am happier than I have been in years the oil leak does not bring me down 2 bad.....
Anyway back on the farm........any and all help, and encouragement is more than WELCOME. This is an amazing site and THANK-U ALL FOR HELPING WITH AMAZING INFO........
LUV 2 HEAR FROM Y'all...........
