Been searching high and low this is my very first truck I have a 96 f250 5.8 4x4 auto. Well issue is I bought the truck and didn't realize how bad the cab was so a buddy of mine has a 90 f250 cab and frame well it has same motor and tranny but there bad so I want to drop my motor from my 96 to the 90 problem is he cut the harness in the engine bay in the 90 truck I need.to find a harness for that truck please please help somewhere I can buy it or a part number something I want to put my truck together so I can put it to work and drive it I need the complete eng8ne harnesses
it's hard to find cabs in my area and I'm not made of money so I'm working with what I have but thanks for advice
Take his good cab and put it on your truck.. You have to swap some stuff around on a '96 motor to work on a '90 anyway. You just need to use your interior/ dash/ HVAC for it all to work but then you can keep your engine/ trans and wiring harness.. Even if you don't swap cabs, all you need to do is swap your interior and then the entire thing will work with the harness you have

About everything really. Very similar trucks, very different trucks as well in the details.. '90 has a cable driven speedometer, '96 is electronic driven off the rear axle. '96 HVAC is vacuum operated and '90 is cable operated. '90 has 3 fuel pumps and a very expensive transfer selector , and 1996 uses 2 fuel pumps and a very cheap switch with no transfer selector..
So to use your '96 transmission, you can use your '96 rear axle to get the speed sensor, and then your dash/ HVAC ect, OR live without a speedometer.. You could use your harness and make it run, but it won't be 'right' without the necessary changes. However with both trucks, you have all of the parts to make it work at your disposal

They are not the same exactly. Both 5.8L AODE yes, but the emissions equipment and even the TFI setup is different on the '96. As well as the 1996 transmission will not have a place for a speedo cable, which I covered..
Again, If you have all the parts you can make one good running truck out of them
