I'm looking for info on performance cylinder heads for my 85 F350. I built my motor years ago with many more but I'm ready for cylinder heads. I'd prefer cast iron for durability. Any info on products, builders, etc be helpful.
Aftermarket cast iron heads are available for the 460 but NONE of them are cheap. Acquiring and getting a set of factory C8 C9 D0VE heads ported would be cheaper.
And really unless you going circle track racing or building for a jet boat or some other extreme severe service application, the aftermarket AL heads will do you just fine.
Excellent. I liked the break down of the different heads. I'll look into what heads I got on her. I'm presently running 30-40 over can't remember. Hypereutectic pistons. Block decked heads shaved to true 9.0 compression. Complete comp cams k kit for all torque set up. Edelbrock intake Holley 750 carb. Tuned with afr meter. Took 20 +hrs on that as I drilled and customized air bleeds jets power valve ports etc. Long tube headers. Msd mechanical advance distributor with 6al box. I'm getting ready to install an old Holley commander 950 on it to control timing which will give massive torque change etc. That build is ten years old and several thousand hard miles. Runs like a top and will slip the stock ZF 5 speed clutch. Just wanted to finish it off with better breathing
