Ok guys, I could use a little help figuring out what I did wrong. This weekend I installed new plugs ,wires, and a msd tfi blaster coil on my 88efi F150. No problem ran great! Next day I install the msd 6a box, using the wiring harness, makes this a real simple job. Get done ,connect the battery and she won't start, no spark. I went back and double check that I didn't accidentally unplug anything else in the process. Everything looks in order. So I pull the 6a unit out put back the old coil and still nothing!! I had nothing out of the ordinary happen during installation, or when I reconnected the battery or tried to turn it over, but I also can't get it to run. Any ideas? Thanks Scott
Actually it had nothing to do with the installation of the msd. That was too easy for even me to screw up :-)When I went back to triple check, I had spark. I must not have had the tester well grounded the first time. But she still wouldn't turn over. No fuel right?!. Long story short when I drilled the holes to mount the box, I was near the inertia switch. When the drill went though and I bumped the fire wall, it triggered the switch, and therefore shut off the fuel pump!! Just goes to show, sometimes you look so hard for something so simple!! Lesson lesrned, dumb mechanic!!:-) Hope someone gets a laugh out of this!
