97 AWD EGR problems
Went to clean my EGR valve-asssuming it is the EGR valve I am looking at -drivers side of the engine toward the front with a tube going up to the intake manifold and another down to the exhaust pipe. Has a single vacuum line on it and is held on by two bolts. Here's the problem-the previous owner stripped one of the two bolts-the one in the back toward the firewall. My question is this-is the tube up to the intake manifold removable at the manifold? If it is I should be able to lift the entire assembly out and work on the stripped bolt in a vise.It appears the EGR has a nut on the bottom tube to the exhaust that will release it there.Anybody have any idea?
