I've got these mirror brackets on my 76...original stuff but what I'd like to know is what color are they suppose to be? My Dad repainted them some years ago and im not too keen on the color. I'm thinking they should be Wimbledon White since the lower half of the truck is white. Thanks for you help. You guys are amazing with all the knowledge that you possess.

TYPE 3 high mount Western Junior mirrors with 3rd "steady rest" arms. These were part of the F250/350 Camper Special package, optional on other F100/350's.
1973/79: Genuine Ford were stainless with a 5" x 9" mirror head. The present mirror head is not original.
1967/72 version could be painted white or stainless, but used the same 5" x 9" mirror heads, one type being painted.
Thank you all for the info. ND is correct, the mirror heads are not original. I'm thinking they were white as I don't remember them ever being shiny, just the mirror head itself. I'm going to sand them down and paint it white to match the lower half of the truck.
You might want to reposition the mirror to the inside of its bracket, makes the truck a lot narrower in traffic, unless you are hauling a camper and need the extra width to see past the camper?

That's a very good idea. Thanks for the tip. I don't haul a camper anymore.
I sanded them down yesterday and did learn that the original paint was white.
