A twist to the 'Stang header compatibility

Well we all know that Mustang headers bolt up to our 302's, but how about the aftermarket H pipes?

The way I see it the 'Stangs came with the 302/AOD, so why wouldn't the H-pipe bolt up too?

The only reason I thought of this is I searched for an H-pipe system for the 'pit' but only found them for the Mustangs.

So, if anyone has ever bolted one on or at least tried to I want to hear about it.

The only thing that I can think of that would prevent this from working is the location of the engine in trucks compared the the Mustang. The engines sit higher (compared to the floor pan) than the 'stang.
I maybe wrong however, I think you will find that the upward section of the H-Pipe will be to short to connect to the headers.
As many of these things that are lying around it wouldn't be to hard to measure some of the dimensions to see if it would fit... Or someone here may have already?

BandB has it right. I traded a buddy some old 5.0 shorties and a factory H-pipe to use on his 84 F150. We had doubts and sure enough he could only use the first 6 inches of the pipes and had to chuck the rest for all new pipes.

Crossmemeber is also different, unless I'm mistaken. Hence why they sell the double hump xmembers for the 'stangs.
