Currently I am running Firestone TransForce 8.75R16.5LT Radial tires mounted on regular press steel rims (not split rims) that I want to stay with on my 1971 F250. They have been great tires & worked well and have tons of tread left on them but have a lot of side wall cracking from age so I am going to put 4 new tire on the rig. Like I said they are nice tires, but a bit high dollar for a truck that sees 5,000 miles a year so I am looking at some others that are a little more friendly on price.
Has anyone ran "Milestar SteelPro or Deestone" tires? They both have the look of a bias tire that I like and they are both radials and come in the 8.75R16.5 10ply size. They look like they would meet my light duty needs, she's just a cruiser to get me around town. Thanks
Get the lowest ply rating you can get as you are not hauling anything. It will help the ride. Milestars are made in Taiwan and Deestones are made in Thailand.
Question for the few out there that are still running 16.5 tires. What type & brand are you using? I currently am running Firestone TransForce 8.75R16.5 LT. Would like to fined a lower price radial for my truck that gets less than 5000 miles per year.
