Truck campers are awesome and the easiest most flexible way to travel. We are on our 2nd and have travelled x-country twice. We use ours year round in New England.
When the right time comes, grabs those 3 grandkids and go.
You can always put them up top in the bed and you can sleep on the fold down dinette. (Might be easier for you!)
A tent for the Boys isn’t a bad idea either.
We have a single slide and have camped two adults + 2 teens+ lab. No problem.
Bill, I was pretty much thinking the same as you about sleeping arrangements. Although nothing is yet carved in stone, I plan to spend a fair amount of time this summer sitting in front of a campfire. Thanks for the input and take care... stay healthy.

I have been trying to figure out what the two buttons at the top of this snapshot actually do, what they control. Needless to say I'm a long way from being a genius, but I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm dumbfounded. I assume they control some lights, but where? HELP PLEASE.....anybody.
Ken
I think I've used mine once in three years of ownership.
I was amazed to see "just how bright they actually were" - great for turning into a dark driveway late at night. Problem is, trying to fumble around in a dark cab and find the damned switch, while driving, and turn on the correct one, is a PITA!!!

Finding the switch is the second problem for me. Primary is remembering to use them. Out of sight, out of mind.
Back in the day I had a 1977 Ford Station wagon. I think it was a Galaxy. It was decked out, all the bells and whistles. It was the size of a gun boat. It had corner lighting. The lights came on with the turn signal. I really liked that feature. The areas to the left or right were really well lit when they came on. I thought it was a really useful option. Does anyone now still produce station wagons? I guess extended Tahoes and Expeditions would qualify, even though they are mounted to a truck chassis.
Stay healthy....

I guess they still call them wagons in some circles. Ford Taurus, Fusion, Mondeo, Explorer, Expedition...I think the catch all phrase these days is SUV.
