Brake line help
Try looking at some Mustang flex lines. I know some Mustangers have Lincoln rear ends and maybe one off a Mustang would match up.
My 67 Mustang has a stock rear and those diamentions sound close.
OK, for posterity, I think I have solved my problem. I found a site on the net that talks about installing a versaille rear end. He notes that the flex hoses are difficult. ie expensive, to get. Therefore he recommends the 80s f-150 hoses. The length is little long but the fittings are right. $22.50 a piece. I'll put them on today and check for prope fit.
Thanks, John
Bad news. The f150 brake lines don't fit afterall. They are a hair smaller on the banjo fitting end. Ford and Lincoln both say they are not available. I am now searching for someone to make them from scratch. Does anybody have a source?
John
I would take the end that the line screws into (if possible) to a salvage yard. Check out all makes and models, you may get lucky and find something that will work. You can get a new line if you find one that works. Good luck Ozzie.

Thanks John, I'll give them a try. They claim to be able to make brake lines to oem standards. Their prices look reasonable too.

Could you not just drill out the banjo fitting to work?

Why not give Carl the part number for the proper hose and ask him nicely if he'll check his Hollanders manual to see what else they came on? Maybe searching under some other "model name" they'll be easier to find.

We also know that some 94-97 Exploders had rear discs and from 98 up they all had rear discs. Wonder if this part would fit. Should be lots of those in your local wrecking yard (expecially with Firestone tires) that you could compare to.
Just a few thoughts......
A wrecking yard should have the Hollander manual or something equivalent.
I hope I have found the right brake lines now. The above mentioned suplliers wanted to make braided hoses only. I think this would have been a problem as they would probably rub on the shocks. I found a Lincoln supplier in Perris CA. 1-800-657-4758. (Lincoln Parts International) Pricey at $55 a piece. But, I need them. They're shipping them to me and I should have them in a few days. Thanks for the help, John
Of course the day after I order the brake lines from Perris, CA, I get a call back from the local guy. He has them in stock for $20 less if you count the shipping! He forgot to check his own enventory.
So if anybody is reading this post in the future, call Yerby brake in Sacramento. $44.36 a piece 916-441-1461 They are nice folk, just very busy. John
