So I decided to buy some new windshield trim inserts for my 78. After a bunch of different tools I ended up using a gasket scraper and a spackle knife. What I did was put the bottom of the trim in the bottom of the gasket then put the spackle knife in the top of the gasket and lift it while pushing the top of the trim with the scraper until it seated simultaneously. PIA but it worked!!!
