Hello everyone. New to the forums. Have a 2006 F-150. Hope you all can help. Haven't been able to find information elsewhere. Wipers were working fine on intermittent just fine. Then, all of a sudden, started swiping normally as in the "on" position. Parked the vehicle a short time later, turned the wipers "off" but they kept swiping. Shut the truck off and removed the key and the wipers kept swiping. The ONLY way to get them to stop was by pulling the fuse. I just replaced the turn signal switch on the steering column hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't. (I was have a problem with the turn signals that was coming from that switch so thought the problem was now affecting wipers also) I assume the problem is now in a relay but I can't find where the relay(s) are for the wipers. Can someone point me to them or if the solution is elsewhere, please help. Thanks.
All the control electronics are built into the wiper motor module. No discrete components external to it except the fuses and the MFS. The MFS simply has inputs that tell the control electronics inside the motor module what the driver wants.
The solution, unless you want to tear into the module and try to repair it, would be to replace the module.
Under the trim/cowling at the base of the windshield.
It's also posible that a short-to-ground in the wiring from the MFS (or a defective MFS) could cause your specific symptom. Do the wipers run at low or high speed? Does the intermittent feature work or not?
