When i traded in my 2008 F-250, I was careful to remove all of the CDs from the CD player. To my surprise, my new F-450 Limited does not have a CD player. I guess that now-a-days everyone just has all of their music on their phone and connects via Bluetooth or USB. My old 8-tracks are gone and so are my cassete tapes, but I would still like to play a CD now and then
Has anyone tried any aftermarket CD players in the new SD trucks?

My 2018 has a CD player
My dad has over 7,000 8 tracks and records CDs from the 8 tracks regardless if I want them or not. Hahaha.
Kind of nice to be able to pop a CD in when out in the middle of nowhere when theres no radio stations.
I wonder if a CD changer can be added inside the console like the old days and hooked to the sync system? Or maybe someone makes a bluetooth CD player that connects to sync?
Hopefully one of the audio heads on here will chime in for some insight on adding a CD player.

There are some on Amazon but they are pricey. This one digitizes up to 12 CDs and you play them back via USB. Only one review, that person obviously go a bad one. https://smile.amazon.com/Premium-Dri...G9E5ZKC5Y12XAP
I usually listen to SiriusXM when out of range, except in Alaska where the satellite is too low in the sky.
This is the one I have in my 2020 F250, it plays CDs fine, however a couple times it has lost communication with Sync3 and I had to reseat the USB cable. I have it vertically mounted in my center console. https://www.4dtech.com/cdplayer/
You guys don’t wan to just rip the CD’s to the hard drive on your computer, then just copy the files to a USB stick and plug it into the USB port on the dash. A 32 GB USB costs about $10, and can hold thousands of songs. You just pick the USB as a source on the radio and you can browse the entire library by artist or album, song, pretty much however you want.
only issue on my 2020 was it wouldn’t let you browse by artist when moving, but you can code that off with FORScan.

For sure!
and being able to enter a GPS destination while moving is priceless.
CD”s and CD players are on life support and someone has their hand on the plug in the wall.
While we enjoy reading your opinion, my opinion on your opinion is its just not a true statement.
Now my opinion:
Every time I walk thru Walmart, I see thousand upon thousands of compact discs on the shelves in the electronics department. Movies, video games, an audio CDs. I can still go to Walmart or any electronics store and purchase a device that plays CDs for home audio & car audio.
Ford drops the CD player from the SD 500 days ago and CDs & CD players are on on life support? Sorry, I have to laugh.
Well it depends on which direction you want to go with. I have no use for CD's so I removed my radio bezel and ACM from my 2017 and installed it in my wife's 19. All it took was 10 mins to swap and about 45 mins comparing as builts ( made a little harder because I previously had swapped a HD ACM into the 2017) it works just fine in the 19. The ACM's are super cheap on Ebay but the radio bezel is very expensive.
I love my CD's. MUCH better audio quality than the junk digital files...
I'm not sure if you are serious or not here, but a CD IS a digital file.
As others have said, the CD is on its way our the door. There was a comment about the selection as Walmart still being present, I can say I remember 3 or 4 FULL aisles of music, the last time I walked through, while looking for something else, there was one aisle, and is was mostly empty of actual product. It does seem to be joining the 8 track, and the cassette tape.
Typically I have used my phone plugged into the USB as an MP3 player. Just recently I tried the USB drive option as was very surprised with its easy of setup. Open iTunes (in my case), and check the physical file locations. Then copy the folders (Artists\Albums\Songs) to a flash drive. The flash drive I had on hand was a little bulky, so I placed an order on Amazon for this one I have for work already:
64 Gb, and about the size of the radio for your wireless mouse (to reduce the risk of something snagging on it. Description lists that 64Gb should be good for about 12,000 songs, that is a LONG road trip.
I'm glad my 17 has a cd player (still have a folder full of cd's I listen to) and also a Aux connection so I can plug my 64gb Microsoft Zune in!! CD's ripped at 320 bit rate sounds good (LOL not kidding)

I know it is, but I also think you know exactly what I mean. Downloaded songs on USB, compressed crap from SXM, files streaming over BT wirelessly, etc...
I also like physical media. "They" can't turn off or delete my CD with the flip of a switch.

I used to have XM before Siruis bought them, Never was happy with the Audio Quality!!!! I came full circle and am listening to LP Records (Vinyl) at home and Cd's in the truck. It's a expensive rabbit hole to go down in LOL, Expensive Turntable and receiver and speakers ugh!! anyways Love my truck and CD Player!!!
