I just installed a S&B cold air intake on my '17 6.7L. I forgot to reconnect the MAF sensor and started driving around the block. My truck flashed the message, "Reduced Power Mode" and the CEL came on. I went home and reconnected the MAF sensor and undid both batteries and let the truck sit for about an hour hoping the code would clear.
Reconnected the batteries and CEL is still there. Not a big deal, truck is running fine after starting it up and driving around the neighborhood for a bit.
The problem now is that my running boards don't fold down when I open any of the doors.
Not sure what I did but I need to figure out how to reset the stupid running boards and hopefully clear the CEL.
If anybody knows how to fix one or the other, or preferably both, I would be eternally grateful!
Can you manually deploy the running boards from the advanced screen on the screen above the steering wheel (not the one in the center of the dash). I use the advanced screen to deploy the running boards so they get clean when I go through the car wash.

I have not. I didn't know that was possible. I'll see if I can figure out how to do that and let you know if I'm successful or not. Thanks!
If you have the ability to use FORScan, you can clear codes that way. I'm not sure which wire(s) you disconnected from the battery, but it could be possible that you missed the power wire for the steps when you reconnected. If you have reconnected everything properly, then disconnect the OBDII connector for the steps and reconnect it. Uaually, that will reset the steps.

Thanks for the insight. I made sure I kept connections together as closely as possible so I know I kept the ground with ground and positive with positive. I posted on Reddit as well and someone suggested I disconnect the battery and let it sit over night and the truck will go into learning mode when I reconnect everything. I'll do that in conjunction with what you suggest. I have the OBD plug undone for the steps and will plug it back in tomorrow morning after I connect the batteries back. Thanks for the suggestion!
