4.9/offy/ automatic help!!
I am thinking about putting a dual port offy on my 84 -300cu with a 390 Holley. My truck has and automatic. I read the carbs has to sit sideways. Can the linkage be hook up for the tranny like this? How about the throttle cable braket?

I'm not sure about a website, but the work can be done. I know that the throttle linkage has to be modified and i would think that the tranny linkage would have to be modified as well. Its really not that difficult if you take some time to set it up. Don't get in a hurry....it wouldn't be in anyones intrest if you had an accident because the throttle stuck or something like that. I added the offy and the holly 390 on an 81 F-150. The only difference is that it was a stick. Great performance increase. You may also consider adding a set of hedders while you are down there. I used headman hedders. You will also have to lengthen some of the vaccum lines and the pcv to fit the new carb. You will also want a 1" carb spacer to help it clear the manifold. You can trim the linkage but the spacer will give you better clearance for the throttle cables over the valve cover. The fuel line should fit if you swivel it at the fuel pump. Good luck.
