The exhaust isn't what is holding your performance down, the stock fuel injectors on your truck can only handle providing enough fuel for 150.2 hp, the only way to get around this is to buy new injectors, stock is 14# an hour...mustangs and explorers with v8's for example have 19# an hour units, those should do nicely, on my truck I installed 20~something# an hour units (they arent marked, just color coded, you should be looking for white or yellow ones, im not sure) Getting to the fuel rail on these EFI motors is a PITA, have to take off the upper intake and the wire harness on the injectors...oh man! I broke the connectors on 5 of the 8 plugs on my injectors, have to lift 2 tabs one each side and pull at the same time, after teaching the neighbors kids a few new words I finnally just stuck a flathead screwdriver on one side, thumbnail on the other tab and yanked up on the screwdriver, poped almost everytime...I just hope they dont rattle loose and cause me to be running on like 2 cylinders or something! Then after doing this the fuel pressure regulator wasn't providing enough fuel for my setup, so I had to get a adjustable unit and play with it a bit, the way I adjusted it is since I have a 5-speed...when it was lean and I engine braked by downshifting I could hear a REALLY cool popping sound out of the exhaust, but once I got it set right I could definatly feel the difference. Good luck on the headers, but my 2cents is you need new injectors.
