I recently got a 2001 e350 with the 7.3. The only issue with it is the frame is rusted out where the steering box connects and it is cracked about 6” to both sides of the hole. I found someone who is selling the frame section I need but it is from a 2006 e350 with the 6.0. The section that I need looks exactly the same from what I can see. The guy selling it says it fits from 2002 to 2007 but I don’t see why i couldn’t make it work. If anyone could please give me some differences or let me know if i could make it work it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
I'm pretty certain that there's no difference, and if looks the same I would go with it. Hopefully, you'll have sound metal to weld to once you start the replacement process. That repair should only be done by someone with a high level of fitting and welding skills.
