I live in the Phoenix area, East Mesa to be exact. I have a 2017 6.7L and every time I accelerate or press on the accelerator there's an obnoxious tick. It only happens when accelerating or revving and gets louder as the RPMs climb. I'm pretty confident it's the turbo. So, I took it to the dealership and they looked at it and said the turbo was performing fine, still held pressure and there were no leaks. The service advisor said, "that's just what powerstrokes do." I've driven powerstrokes and have never heard this tick before.
I know turbos can still function with damaged fins or if a bearing is bad. Is there anyone in the Phoenix area who has a solid mechanic they recommend who can listen to it with me and tell me I'm paranoid or confirm my suspicions?
Or has anyone on here encountered this phenomena and have advice?
