BREAK IN RESISTANT?

Hi All I am wanting to find or have someone build some kind of a door bar lock mechanism or the like to secure an outward swinging door on ETTT. The push button swing handle door lock commonly found on step van doors can easily be broken off and the also in play regular deadbolt house style of lock while being pretty old and very well built is still tempting for anyone who has a pry bar....I am seeking IDEAS for how I can secure that outward swing door. I want to have this new lock in place while the truck is parked and not being used at night to secure that ONLY entry to the dry van box. Because that door is the only entry to the box this special lock bar or other mechanism that one of you might know of has to be put on the OUTSIDE where it can be seen. I dont mind that it would be visible since that will show that some work is needed to get in...Where the truck is parked too much attention will cause the thief to move on....A thief would be wary of using a grinder where the truck sits now since it would produce noise and sparks. Any of that will cause the thief too much of a problem I think I will at least cover the gap that is present between the door and the box when the door is closed to make it harder to pry it open as a beginning.....My current alarm system isnt that sensitive for anything to do with breaking my locks...once the door is open it will come into play. Any one have an idea?

How to make door less tempting to pry open?

A flush paddle latch would be the next step, but for total concealment a solenoid latch with a hidden button or key switch would be the best imho. Say the button in the van side somewhere and the key switch hidden.

The hinge on the door looks to be held on by phillips-head screws. Wouldn't hurt to put a couple of carriage bolts on that side. A battery-operated screwdriver could zip those out pretty quickly.

Not the prettiest, but we use these on our vans and trailers at work. A thief would have to grind a bunch to get them off.
