I use Lucas as well as the standard Ford fuel conditioner. I also use top brand fuel at all times.
I know this doesnt answer your question. Just do some research. I read somewhere about a mix of ATF and something else in diesel fuel but never followed up on it. Maybe try the engine forum.
I'm using Opti-lube Summer+. They win every independent lab test time after time...and it actually does what it says it will according to those tests. Costs me about $2.08 per tank to treat 44 gallons.
Why do you believe you need a fuel system/engine cleaner? A few tanks of bio blended diesel will do a better job at clean up. The only way to know is have your oil analyzed.
Years ago I used it in a Ford Explorer (gasoline additive) and noticed an improvement.
Does anyone know if there are any benefits of using regular techron in diesel engines? Thnx
I would suggest not using it in a diesel Chevron had a standpoint on it. They do make a green label bottle for diesel engines called Techron D.
APPLICATIONS TECHRON Concentrate Plus is designed for gasoline carbureted or fuel injected spark ignition engines. To keep the entire fuel system clean, use TECHRON Concentrate Plus every 3,000 miles or at scheduled oil change intervals, not to exceed twice per oil change.
Will not harm catalytic converters and oxygen sensors.
Not recommended for air-cooled two-stroke engines.
