This is quite a bit early, but I wanted to get everyone's opinions about get together's. If you'd be interested in a get together, what you'd like to happen at a get together and how far you'd be willing to drive. I think I'm going to make a member map. If you don't want your location public, message it to me, or give me a ballpark location. That way I can look at the map and see where everyone is, what area has the most members and use that as a rough outline on possible meetup locations.
I put together a member map via Google maps way back, or at least I started, I can't remember where that ended up.
If I remember correctly you can create a custom Google map, then have it reference locations from a Google sheet, then I created a form and sent it out that would populate that sheet.
We have done meetups all over the state, but we generally tried to stay central'ish to those we knew for sure were coming.
Usually we grill out some sort of lunch, then just BS for several hours while our wives split off and talk about ..... well, probably us.
We have done a couple at my shop in McRae, as well as several state and city parks. (Downside to those is that they cost money to reserve)
I think a map like that would be a good thing. It would make it easier for semi-local members to meet up at the smaller car shows and swap meets. Or even over coffee.
I'm not going to force anyone to give their personal details if they don't want to. It would make it a lot easier if they did especially as far as planning meet ups. But for know we'll plan around the guys who actively participate and everyone else is welcome to come if they want/are able.
