Push Bar/Grille Guard

I was wondering if a Push Bar/Grille Guard for a 90 and up F-150 would fit on an 88. I am not sure if the holes are any different, because the front on mine and the front end on a 90 are the same. And i was also wondering if the turn signal lenses from an 89-92 would fit on the 88, they appear to be exactly the same but i am not sure. I found clear lenses but it says 89 and newer. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I always thought 87-91 were identical.

ToughF1:

Did you find clear front turnsignals or rear? As far as the rear, 87-9? are the same, don't know why they'd say 89+ (though how manytimes do manufactures say things won't work that will?)
If they are for the front...lemme know where you found 'em!

Worse come to worse, if they don't fit, return 'em.

The reason for the "89 & Newer" designation is because in 89 Ford changed the taillight lenses. They removed the wrap around backup light, thus the newer designation. Personally I think that the clear lenses look ridiculous. Take a look at some of the vehicles running on the road with them, the taillights are dimmer, the brake lights look almost pink, and I believe in most areas they are illegal unless it's a show truck!

I ran into this same problem on mine, because I had a set of slotted taillight covers on my 88 F-150 and had them painted to match the truck. They looked really good on the truck too, until I was told that they were illegal 6 months after I had installed them. Look into the laws in your area. Thats the smartest thing to do, before you get the fix it ticket! Trust me.

Would you rather pay almost $100 for a set of clear taillights and then find out two months later you can't run them anymore, and be stuck with them?

I found clear front and rear, i also found euro tails (the kind that has a clear lens with round lights and a mirrored background). I found them through a few people. If you can find someone with an APC Catalog (Parts Plus has one here) they have the stuff in there. The only thing that they don't have is the euro tails. I live in Utah, where do you live. I can talk to my friend about who would have them out by you. The clear fronts and rears were about $100 a pair. The euro tails were about $175.

LAST EDITED ON 23-Feb-01 AT 07:33 PM (EST)[p]If you are referring to me, I am in Texas.

I have been trying to get someone (anyone) at APC to answer my emails about a set of white face guages. But No one will ever return my email, I am starting to think that they don't want to really sell anything very badly. If they want good customers then they need to get better customer service! I have been emailing them for a month!

think he was refering to me...

Cool! hopefuly you have a specific company in mind (mail/web order is fine with me). The "euro-tails" is the best find. Functional and legal. I'm down in San Diego...yeah, So-Cal. I'll look for some APC stuff. Been searchin' but obviously not hard enough.

Push bar will fit, 87-91 front turn signals are the same. 87-88 and 89-91 were different in the back. They will still bolt up however and function the same. I think it is just the reverse lights like Hotrod said. I found this out when I was loading a 4 wheeler into the back of a 90 F150 and took out the passenger side tailight. I went to the wrecking yard and bought one out of an 87. I put it in and then noticed the reverse lights were different. lol. Another interesting note. 1980-86 Taillight lenses will fit the 87-91 trucks and vise-versa. Figured this out a couple months ago as I was going through some things and found a spare lense to my old 90 (man I miss that truck) Looks wierd though.

Hotrodmex, do you have the dual intake throttle body? If so, how is that Mass Air Flow conversion done, and how much does it cost?
