I just installed a FRONT view video camera on my 2016 F-250 via the auxiliary A/V input and it works great in PARK. Put it in DRIVE and the system shuts down the A/V which I understand for safety reasons (They don't us watching Movies while driving down the road). QUESTION IS; Is there anyway to fix it where my front view camera will work while in Drive??? I installed the camera to keep from bumping into other vehicles while I'm parking.
You need to install a relay where the head unit thinks the car is still in park (or the parking brake is on). I did this once before for a DVD player head unit but I don't recalll the details.
First thing to do is find out the exact way the head unit uses the camera input and what toggles it active. That will guide you as to how to hook up the relay so the input sees it as 'hot'.
There should be plenty of help online via Google for how to wire the relay, if you don't get the details here.
