P0231 DTC Troubleshooting
I am in need of some help. My 06 F-250 6.0 is having a crank but no start issue. There is no fuel getting to the secondary filter at the motor. I’ve been able to scan it and it’s throwing the code P0231.
My troubleshooting process has been this.
1. Check and replace fuel filters.
2. Check and replace batteries.
3. Tried to start, turned over once and died and check engine light came on.
4. P0231 code read.
5. Replaced 20A fuse on dash panel.
6. Replaced HFCM with OEM unit.
7. Checked for exposed wires...none.
8. Pressed Inertia Switch Reset,
9. Asking for help.
Ive replaced the HFCM wiring harness about 9 months ago as the clips wore out. It would come loose during bumpy rides, and would actually kill the motor mix drive. I’d hop out, mess with the connectors and was back on my way until it happened frequently.
please let me know of any other ideas that I’m missing. I’ve heard to replace the fuse panel, but I’ve got no idea where to get a brand new one or what to do with it once purchased.
