I want to add some gauges to my truck: EGT, boost, trans temp, water temp, and volts. I was looking at Glowshift gauges, and they seem pretty decent at a reasonable price, but the thing I don't like about them is they are microprocessor-controlled so you can't adjust the brightness to any level you want. Are there any gauges in similar price range that have plain-and-simple backlights that you can control with a variable resistor? I was looking at the Autometer Z-Series and it looks like what I want, but it's kind of on the pricey side. Seems to me that plain incandescent lighting should make the price lower, not higher...
I have my Autolites with LED bulbs in them tapped into the factory instrument cluster illumination circuit. The factory dimmer controls everything. Any gauge with a 194 style bulb for illumination can do this.
Ive thrown away a pile of failed/junk glowshift gauges. Not worth the ‘savings’. You can expect ISSPRO to last as long as your truck and customer service with no competition. I’ve installed lots of these gauges!!!

Looks like you've installed the black FPR spring. I couldn't get myself to go higher than the gold one.
That was while messing around with a failed FPR recently. I tried replacing FPR internal o-rings and shimming the spring while waiting for new FPR to arrive. It didn’t work. Lol. Would not maintain pressure under load...
I’m always shooting for 55-60psi. There is no advantage to higher pressure.
Hey SkySkiJason, did you install that fuel level gauge because the factory gauge didn't work right? Mine gives wacky readings until the level drops to about 1/4 tank.

Wes is correct. We use a 2nd tank for vegetable oil. I often use an Excursion fuel tank in the spare tire location in F250/350. Like this.
However, you can see here I’ve added an ISSPRO fuel level sending unit to the tank. We can order those in the correct ohm range for the factory gauge and replace/upgrade the factory sending unit. They are currently about $100.
Isspro all the way, the EV-2 are LED but they dim fine after installing the extra potentiometer under the dash that you adjust to match your factory dimming then never touch again.
Another isspro user here. I installed the dimmer switch ( potentiometer) when I did my gauges years ago and found that you can only adjust the brightness down so far before the gauges start to flicker. I believe it has to do with the gauges being led. I might be wrong though. I leave mine turned all the way up.
