Bench Seat Swap ?

Have a 68 F100 with bench seat. Thinking of swapping to a
SPLIT-BACK bench (gas tank behind seat). Any recommendations
for which year would make the best donor?

I don't know what you mean by a "SPLIT-BACK" bench. I assume it's one that's open to allow more room for the gas tank. I can tell ya that I swapped out my '69 bench seat with a '87 XLT Lariat seat by just changing the tracks underneath the seat. In my option the newer model seats look nicer and are more comfortable, because of the armrest, higher backs, and headrest. But be aware that by putting in a newer seat you may be losing some room in the cab, especially if you have a gas tank behind the seat.

if you use your stock slides on your '68 truck then you can bolt any ford f series bench type seat to it all the way to '96. not sure about the behind the seat clearence but it should fit without modifycations....if the newer seat is thicker you may have to adjust it foward a bit.
