2003 4x4 not working

2003 4x4 not working
My family just got back from it's first desert trip of the season. We found that my brothers brand new V10 Crew Cab SD 4x4 wouldnt go into 4x. Even after manually locking........does anyone know of problems with new transfer cases? We're taking it into ford but they're being a night mare and giving us the run around. I'd love for an easy fix but need some insight. O the dash 4x4 light doesnt come on incase that helps.

Why would they give you the run around if its brand new????? Its under warranty!
Or is this truck modified in a way that can cause a warranty problem.
To properly diagnose the ESOF system you need a manual.
But chk all the fuses for 4x4 system (owners manual)
Chk all electrical connections to the transfercase.
What 4x4 were you trying 4hi or 4lo ???
Give us alittle bit more info on what you were doing when trying to use 4x4.
