Hi guys I went to start my 93 f250 4x4 auto with a 351 last night after it was running just a couple hours before and it took a good long crank, no start and then another long crank to start. This morning after many attempts she cranks over strong but no start. The only diagnostic I had time to do is put a light tester on the coil wire and it does not spark while cranking until I stop, it sparks once. What could this be and how can I diagnose the potential parts? Thanks guys.

What coil wire, the output wire to the distributor or the 12v wire going into the bottom of the coil? Either way you need to get a code reader and figure out if it has codes stored in the computer. Also get your hands on a Haynes or Chilton manual they can highlight some of the diagnostic steps for these systems to help YOU figure out what the problem is. I'm just a disembodied voice on the Internet that can offer suggestions but cannot accurately diagnose something unless it's in front of me.
Thanks for that amazing link it walked me through step by step to diagnose that it’s either my ignition control module or my pip in the distributor and I replaced my ignition control module with no luck so I guess I’ll have to spring for a new distributor.
Okay so I had the distributor replaced and it ran for a day and now I have the same issue again, accept now too, it idles low and rough. Something else to possibly note, my ignition key sticks a little when I turn it to crank.
Does the link mention to disconnect the SPOUT connector to see if there is a fault with the computer control of the ignition?
If you disconnect it (pretty easy on most trucks) and it fires up immediately, there is an issue with the computer or the wiring between.
