I need to replace the timing cover on my 1994 4.9, the rubber failed on the harmonic balancer and it worked its way back cutting a groove in the cover and a pretty good oil leak. I'm replacing the balancer and need a new cover. Are they interchangeable between earlier, 80's models and the 90's models?
I would assume that any Ford 4.9 from the 80's and 90's would have the same timing covers and bolt patterns?
$54 from Rock Auto brand new. Looking at a few different years , they appear to be the same as long as it had a serpentine belt. Do you already have one that you want to use?
Are you looking at the first one - for $54? The one I pulled of the truck looks like the other one for $128 - which is what I've been searching for and finding new for >$125 and used for around 30-50 bucks (but from different years, and just wanted to make sure they would work, they look identicial to my untrained eye)
which I might pull the trigger on, but I was hoping for confirmation this would work on a 1994 since I can't inspect and compare side by side with the one I took off.
