I am getting ready to pick up my 2020 F-350 and wanted to get better throttle response like I did by adding a bigger exhaust and CAI on my 2006. Does adding a CAI make any noticeable difference paired with a 5" DPF back exhaust? I see others talking about adding a Napa 6637 which makes a better sound since these trucks a fairly quiet.Do any of these make any noticeable difference either on sound or throttle response? Thanks for the help!!
No one is advocating use the BAF filter on these, that was common on the 7.3. These trucks already have a very adequate cold air intake. The DPF back exhaust would just be for personal taste and offers nothing over the stock exhaust.

a cat back wont change anything except the looks.
The throttle lag off the line is bc of the torque management control system.
You stomp the pedal to the floor telling the computer, I want full power/throttle. Computer says I cant do that per my programing until a certain mph speed is reached or load is put on the truck.
Its there to protect the drivetrain for longevity and prevention of drivetrain warranty work.
3 options
1) when truck is stopped, put your left foot firmly on the brake pedal. Then with right foot give it throttle till some boost builds. Remove foot from brake pedal. It should launch harder.
2) Throttle/pedal commander. I know nothing about them. It should give better throttle response?
3) Custom tunes will reduce the torque management nannies
At this point most aftermarket intakes will make things worse as they draw hot air from under the hood and also filter the air less effectively than stock. But hey, some of them look pretty!
I have the BD Diesel throttle sensitivity booster on my 19 F450. It does a very good job with the drive by wire lag and makes it feel more responsive depending on the settings you use. I had it on my 16 and moved it to my 19. I am running the middle (50%) setting I can't see how you could keep from breaking the tires loose on 100% with any moisture on the road. Very easy to install and swap to a new truck also customer service is very good.
how does it compare to stock and what does it do performance wise? Havent really looked much into those.
It is only an inline electronic adjustment for input on the accelerator. I don't think it changes anything with fueling, tuning, etc. It only tricks the truck into thinking you've mashed the pedal further down than you actually have. In concept, it's a good idea. In reality, you can just push the pedal further and get the same effect. But, there is something to be said for better / quicker throttle response, which is what the pedal commander supports.
If you do go with a CAI intake, go with the S&B CAI.
$299
relocates the passenger side battery to behind the airbox vs in front of it. Draws air from outside the engine bay like the OEM airbox.
Can then hear a little turbo whistle when the windows are down.
The stock box is good tho.
I went with the S&B bc im running a HP increase tune and didnt want to starve the engine for air since its now running a max of 35psi of boost vs stock 22psi.
Lots of debates on this subject on this forum. You will get mixed opinions.
If your not running HP increase tunes, dont waste your money or time as the S&B CAI takes a lot of time to install bc of the battery relocation process. PITA.
CAI are a total waste, unless you just wanna throw cash at look good parts. But at that point how often do you have your hood open to stare at it? Money would be much better spent elsewhere. Catback exhausts on these trucks are pointless as well... it's just for looks.
The only time a CAI is really worth it, if youre running some serious tunes or have a turbo upgrade. The OEM box setup flows plenty good for OEM and even some pretty aggressive tuning. One way to look at it, the $300 you spend on a S&B is pretty much 300,000 miles of OEM filters...
