gas leak
hey fellas. just a little concern of mine. every time i shut off my truck and get out, i smell gas. im not sure where its coming from but i know its there. i think its coming from under the hood. before i get under the hood and really take a look at it, i was wondering if anyone had this problem before. if not, could anyome tell me some places to check, maybe like spots where the gas might be prone to leaking? thanks again , death.

I had the same problem on my old truck, it was an 83 with the 300 sixer, and i had three different gas leaks on it, assuming its a carb, check your gas lines, thats where mine were coming from, plus there should be a catch can along the fuel system somewhere and there is a filtering device in there that has a tendency to absord the gas smell and can cause a strong smell once its been there for a while.
