I hooked up my laptop to my truck to turn off seat belt chime. All went well, truck runs fine, same as before. Problem is when I went to start up Forscan lite on my tablet all I get is error codes. One time it will say no elm found. So, I tried again and it ran through, and gave error codes on all modules.
Now before I plugged in my laptop to change seat belt warning it worked fine, been using for a few years. Checked all settings and nothing is out, same as before. Now I plugged in my Laptop with a hard-line adapter and I use a BLUETOOTH Dongle for Forscan lite and Torque Pro. Do you think there is a connection. (no pun intended) Torque Pro works fine just not Forscan lite. Any ideas?

Not quite clear on the various scenarios you are describing, so I'll just tell you what I found: With my laptop and my trusty BT ELM adapter that works just dandy with Torque Pro with my Android phone, I could not get the laptop (pc) to connect Forscan via that adapter. So I bought a hard wire OBD --> USB adapter and the laptop and Forscan works just fine going that route. Don't know why the other didn't work - oh yeah, I tried the hardwire connection to my phone to run Torque that way and it also was a no-go...
What's funny about it. Is that torque and Forscan lite both worked off my OBD2 dongle, before I hooked up my laptop with a hard wire. Now that I had hooked it up with the hard wire. My dongle won't connect to my Forscan Lite, it will connect to my torque. Thinking about deleting and reinstalling Forscan
Have your laptop release/delete the Bluetooth connection for your adapter -- then refresh and re-pair the connection to the Bluetooth -- had a few occasions where my laptop would stop using a paired device -- usually reestablishing the paring works
I will try that in the morning, ill be out there doing some other stuff. Thanks for the Tip. I did shut down Forscan on laptop before i unplugged so it shouldn't be effecting the Dongle bluetooth connection. Definitely something to try.
DELETE the bluetooth pairing settings for the Torque & Forscan app. Also Un-pair the OBDII dongle in the phone's settings.
Then re-pair (Pair) the OBDII dongle and re-setup the bluetooth connection on the Forscan app.
I've had this happen a couple of years ago and that solved it. The phone/dongle acted like it was married to the Torque app. I since no longer use it even need the Torque app. FORSCAN is all you need.
That's sounds like a good start. Will do.
The reason I have torque still going is I can make the pids larger. Forscan on my tablet is not adjustable with pid size unless you just zoom. Then you cut out other pids. Other than that I use Forscan for every thing..

That's wierd. on my apps when selecting gauge you can pick size from tiny, small, ect....
Also you should make sure Forscan is up to date.
That's torque. Forscan you pic your pids then switch to dashboard and see pid squares and hit play and and they give live readings. Never asked about pid size.

Forscan is adjustable. Is that what you mean by zoom? Like this.
Yah.... In a way. If I have ___say 6 pids up. (I use about 10). It will cut some out. With torque I can run 8 small and the big ones(ECT and eot) on medium. I keep all in screen and can read with out me reading glasses. 😊😊
Yeah it should fit to screen no matter how many. None should cut off. The only time I have that many up is for diag on a truck or the bi-annual inspection.
This is my full diag screen. Not for everyday driving.
Ah ok. I don't have that problem yet but I'm warned all time. Can't hear too well though, mostly left ear.
I did get the apps mixed up so maybe early signs of dementia.
Ahhh. Don't see the dementia in ya. Pretty knowledgeable on these forums. You are right on one thing Forscan is the better with diagnostics than Torque. Hell I have the extended licence on Forscan and it is impressive.
