I have some pretty loud engine noise. I am thinking it is lifter tick coming from the number 1 cylinder but wanted to confirm with yall. The noise is definitely the loudest when cold starting the engine. Sorry for the wind noise, the fan was blowing on the phone while recording.
Really hard to tell with all the different noises. On sound videos, length helps as well, something around 30 seconds is good, under ten and the video cuts out while you're trying to isolate the noise. Make a stethoscope with a piece of fuel line jammed into a styrofoam cup. It'll help you isolate the sound.
Remember, the camshaft and valvetrain turn half the speed of the crankshaft. Thinking about that may help determine the noise source. Am I correct in saying this truck is not on the road yet and has not been driven much lately? That can aggravate varnish and sticky lifters.

It's seen about 200 miles in the last month, so yeah definitely not been driving much. I'll try to get a better and longer video, without the wind noise and such.
Had a similar noise in a windsor. Bent pushrod and loose rocker. Pull each plug wire one by one to locate noise. Probably good idea to pull valve covers.
I haven't been able to get more into this, since my battery died. Now that I have a new battery and fired the truck back up, the noise is gone. If it comes back again, I will take a better video. I do have a video of a different noise. Whenever I rev the engine up and then let off the gas it ticks during deceleration. Is this normal? I might be hard to hear on the video, but if you listen closely as I take my foot off the gas, the tick starts until it reaches idle.
