The door hinges on my 75 F100 appear to be reversed on the driver side. The passenger side hinges are positioned as shown in the LMC catalog, with the detent spring on the lower hinge. The driver side has the detent spring on the upper hinge.
Can this arrangement work? The door isn't aligned right now, but there is some damage to the door and rear pillar area, so I'm wondering if the hinges need to be swapped before I can even hope to get it to align properly
Thanks.
Just to be clear.......... The detent spring is on the bottom hinge both sides. However, the bottom hinge is flipped from side to side (there is not a left and right hand version).
A real smart FTE member posted this a while ago. Food for thought.Door hinges: you could look at the hinges on the driver side compare them to the passenger side. You will see that there is only two hinges and they are upside down on one side of the truck, Ford only made 2 hinges for the 4 locations, so take the hinge you need from the opposite side off a truck in the wrecking yard as the passenger sides get used way less. So lower driver side hinge matches upper passenger side - they are the same part, and upper driver side hinge matches lower passenger side - they are the same part According to sources this above info is incorrect, but it always worth a try to ck it out. They might be different part #’s but they might be interchangeable ?1973/79 F100/750 & 1978/79 Bronco: D3TZ-1022800-A.. Right & Left Upper Hinge / Obsolete D3TZ-1022810-A..
