Explorer ST

Just picked up a 2020 Explorer ST. Looked at the Pallisade, Telluride, Cx9, and Grand Cherokee and came away with the Explorer. The other makes did have a nice interior finish (minus the outdated Jeep) but left me unimpressed with the way they drove as I wanted something with a little zip. They all handled well and rode well but just a bit of a boring driving experience for my liking and that’s why I came away with the ST Explorer. Only have around 2000km on it so far but really impressed with whole vehicle thus far.

I'm with you. But as 80% of my driving is on suburban roads with 35 mph-45 mph speed limits, I am having a hard time justifying to myself the need.

Ford says that 21% of all Explorer sales are ST's.

I read that the other day and these are starting in the mid 50K range MSRP. The 3.0L eco is laying down some nasty power landing it squarely between the 2.7L and the 3.5. I'm having a hard time with this as the 2.7L has been a workhorse in the F-150 for a minute, so, why yet another new engine?

The 2.7L has a CGI block and the 3.0L is cast aluminum. Less weight perhaps?
