Hi all. Sorry if this has been asked and answered already. I have a 2012 F350 Lariat. I am getting the DEF heater error code and am losing power. My question is if I turn the EGR/DPF system off, do I need to replace the exhaust at the same time, or can I run the DPF exhaust with the system disabled for a while? I'm on a fixed income, but need my truck running right asap. Thanks.
I am pretty sure the rocket ship pipe section has to come out right away or it will clog, also you have to run a tune for the truck to run. You can't just unhook with stock programming
You would have to purchase a tuner that is capable of modifying the programing and then obtain a straight pipe in place of the DPF.
The best option is for you to check ford pass if you have it or go onto the ford web site and check for recalls. There is an extended warranty out there for several and maybe yours is in the program and can be fixed for free.
