1959 Ford UPS Box Van

Howdy! New to the forum but a Ford family member for decades. Embarking on a Vintage UPS box truck restoration with my daughter so she can start a coffee truck. Need help as I am new to the spec side of things. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction for dimensions on one of these box trucks. Any input is appreciated!

Here it is!

A box truck is a cab and chassis with a "box" in back of the cab. This is a "step van", "walk-in van", "curbside van", "Vanette" type. Dimensions are likely proprietary to UPS specs. And like all UPS trucks, all brand identification has been removed or masked. Later models of this type of UPS truck have an unidentifiable generic looking fiberglass front clip. You would have to go to the body manufacturer to get any specific dimensions, Ford did not build the body. But consider yourself lucky to have this gem because all of it's contemporaries go to the crushers.
Good luck on your project.

Like the others have said, the box was added to the chassis by one of several aftermarket coach builders. The chassis is a P-500 as described in the below data sheets. These data sheets are for the 1957 version of the chassis, but I’m sure the 1959 model was unchanged.

There is one aspect of your truck that differs from the spec sheets. The spec sheets show either 19.5” or 22.5” tubeless wheels. Your truck instead has 20” tube type wheels. From your picture it’s clear that they have two piece outer rims known as the Firestone RH-5°. Today they are called “widow makers” that few shops will touch. Maybe no shops in California. Finding replacements in the 19.5” or 22.5” sizes will be one of your first challenges. Stu
