I just purchased a used 2017 F250 Crew Cab 6.7 Lariat with 31000 miles Ruby Red. I had a 2017 F150 Xlt 2.7 eco beast before this one that was involved in a crash and upgraded to the F250. The F150 had the same stereo but it had some features that I liked better. I believe it had version 3.4. Is anyone running the version 3.4 on a new truck? I didn’t have the built in navigation before but the new one does. I want to upgrade but don’t want to screw it up.
I have been searching and found numerous articles about all sorts of stuff. Most of it too technical for what I want to try and possibly screw up on my own truck.

Take a stroll over to the F150 section or search for SYNC 3 3.4 update.
The update can be done but one must really know what their doing.
Yes, it’s very technical for those who are not comfortable trying said upgrade and I also fall into that category.

Well, there's your answer - if it sounds to technical for you, then maybe it is. It involves downloading a bunch of zip files, putting the correct ones on three different USB sticks, inserting them into your truck in the proper sequence, etc. I did it, it worked but it was a PITA!!! The really long thread explains it...
I did the 3.4 update on mine a couple of weeks ago. As others have noted it involves downloading a bunch of large files to separate USB drives and ensuring they are named correctly. It might also involve using forscan if you run into issues after the update. If you lack technical ability don't bother as you could mess up or brick your sync system. You might consider finding a member that is familiar with the update process that lives near you and pay them to do it for you.
Ford those that have updated to 3.4, I noticed in some of the pics that the screen has a blue scale and some might even say it’s more modern looking this way. I do think the graphics look a bit cleaner.
Do you guys find that it’s a bit too much and wish it was more of a black scale or do you prefer the blue.

3.4 on Lincoln theme looks really good IMO.
The thing that I really hate is that when you set up a course in Ford's NAV , they put so much junk in the top of the screen that you simply don't see where you are going. I really don't know what they where thinking there.

Hmmmm, very interesting. I’ve never seen the Lincoln theme.
Too much junk at the top?
Is this a change with 3.4 because I’m still on 3.0.
A few weeks ago, I just found out that I can view the next turn on on the display behind the steering wheel.
I’ve had my F150 sine 2016 and I didn’t even know this was possible.
I guess that’s what happens when one uses Apple CarPlay all the time.
I use one of the Lincoln themes, not sure which but it's not bluey (like Dory) and easier on the eyes. Yes, I'm not crazy about the extra navigation banner (its green) that sits on top of the map, takes up too much real estate.
