ABE, PT really stands for pure torture. However, every minute of pain equals an another year of bliss. Work through it, we're all pulling for you. In the mean time I'm available this spring to drive the trucks if you're still feeling a little stiff. There's also room in my pole barn too. I'm just saying...if it makes it any easier while you're recouperating.
Actually this is day 4 with the new shoulder. I don't like taking narcotics but I did fill the script for oxycodone. I took one after I got home Wednesday evening. Then one before bedtime. I only took one Thurs before bed. I don't think I'll take one tonight. The extra strength Tylenol seems to be doing the trick. The pain I have is just a dull pain similar to what I had before surgery.
So I feel much better today, and I am posting more.
Abe,
No wonder my shoulder was hurting tonight. Man I sure hope your recovery is quick! I was on the pain pills for a while with my back. They never seemed to do much for me. Got off them as soon as I came home.
You will be riding around in the 54 with the arm out the window and pain free this summer!
Regards,
Chris

When I crushed my fingers I felt a lot better when I stopped taking the Percocet. I felt like crap the whole time I was on that stuff. I stopped taking it about 5 days into a 30 day Rx. On my next to last visit with the hand specialist he was going to write another. He thought I was still taking it because "everybody does."
God's speed on your recovery, Abe. Props for avoiding the Oxy.
Again, thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! I'm still off the oxycodone. I felt well enough today to go to church. Plus I just had to get out of the house. A buddy is picking me tomorrow to go to breakfast. I see the doc Feb 19. Then I think I get this immobilizer off and can go to rehab. I don't know how long it will be before I can drive my Armstrong Steering trucks, let alone heavy lifting.
I was wondering if your arm was in a sling, or if you have some kind of contraption.
It is some kind of sling/contraption. Here is a pic one I found but for some reason it looks better on the model than on me. And I didn't get an exercise ball....
There is a strap that goes around the waist that you can just barely see in this pic.
Hey Abe
I'm glad you are on the recovery side of the surgery.
Did they give you any pics as momentos? I think it's amazing some
of the things they can fix or replace now.
Hang in there..no shoveling snow. Did they give you a list of prohibited activities?

No pics. The science/anatomy teacher where I sub asked me if they could video it for her. I didn't. I didn't even get the old joint.
30 years ago I'd have to live with the pain and limited use.
No snow since my surgery. Prohibited activities? I can't do anything until I see the doc on the 19th. A buddy picked me up this morning to go for breakfast. I take my arm out of the sling to don't exercises. Oh, and I got my first shower with help from my wife last night. I cannot lift my left arm.
Well at least she didn't take you to the car wash and hose you down.
Glad you limited the use of Oxy, That can cause serious addiction problems.
I'm sure you will recover quickly. You can always get a necker **** and take the chance of having your chest caved in during a wreck.
