08 deaver leafs or add a pack

Trying to figure out a parts list for mods for my 2000 this year. I’m swapping in a set of 06 axles with front level springs. I’m looking to upgrade the rear leaves from my current setup, 4400lb springs, to some kind of setup for an 08 truck. Ive already bought the conversion brackets for the longer springs, trying to decide if I should buy factory(ish) leafs and the carli add-a-pack or a full set of deavers. The most I’d tow with any regularity is an 8k enclosed trailer, more often something lighter and very rarely something heavier. The factory with add-a-pack would be cheaper before shipping(I’m guessing) and I shouldn’t need air bags for the heavy loads but the deaver wil ride better empty. What is the general consensus on best route to take? I’m looking for a smooth ride since it is primarily my DD but need it to handle a trailer behind it when needed.
I dont off-road the truck past some rutted dirt roads and it will have a set of 285/75/18s on it, 35”. With my current leaves and the front level coils i should be dead level so I’d like a little rake when i swap to the newer leaves. What’s looking like my best plan of attack when i start ordering parts for the rear?

Anyone have any input? I know to maintain the weight capacity I’d has e to get long travel air bags with the deaver springs. Hoping to hear some experience from others that have done similar

@pirate4x4_camo I know your busy with the race but when you get a chance please chime in.
its looking like for a new set of leafs from ATS with shipping will run me around 550 depending on what springs and where I can have them shipped to, waiting on a quote from the closet dealer for the Carli add-a-pack but on Carli’s site they list them at 445 before shipping. I figure but the time I’ve got all the shipping figured plus the slight labor to combine the packs I’ll be within $200 between the 2 options. The truck is primarily a DD so empty or mostly empty most of the time

Anyone? I know there’s a wait period for a set of deavers and I’d assume the same for the add a pack. I’m hoping to start ordering all the parts I’ll need for my swap come March, I could put off doing the leaf springs for a bit but it seems a shame to upgrade the front and leave the heavy rear springs I’ve got now.

I have nothing to add other than maybe contact Deaver and talk to them. It doesn't seem like @pirate4x4_camo responds to tags, maybe send him a PM to your thread.

I emailed deaver and while they are willing to build a custom pack for how my truck is setup during winter they didn’t seem to read my email past I’m interested so sell me something. I’ll probably end up going with deaver since they should provide a better ride than stock springs with a pack but ill have to call on my days off to really talk to someone and sort out the details that somehow the emails were overlooked.

I messaged pirate and got one response then his inbox was and still is full so no clarification on anything since. It seems most of the other parts ill be ordering i should be able to get in short order but the springs will take around 8 weeks if i have something custom, not sure if ill be able to order a generic set and get them sooner but that probably wouldn’t be my best bet for the weight and ride quality

I dont have the longer 08 plus springs but on my factory 2004 F350 pack I had a custom bent/cut long add a leaf made at a local spring shop. Love the way the truck handles weight now and my ride is no worse than stock. Ha dling is much better after though, so my vote is ADD A LEAF

I’m definitely not looking to add more capacity, the springs I have currently are 4400lb capacity each and it rides rough. Does great when I’ve got 13k of concrete/clay and a trailer hanging off the reviver hitch though. Luckily I shouldn’t have to mess with that again. Mostly going more a smooth ride that doesn’t try to bounce me around the cab.
