2011 6.7l 101,000 miles. No more check engine lights. Great mileage. Wonderful truck. Runs and drives better than new. She met the dealer once, didn't like it and said she didn't want to go back.

The 7.3L diesel was a pretty good engine back in the day, but it is also 17 model years old on the newest one you can get. Do you really want to fool with getting into a 17 model year old, or older vehicle to daily drive?
YES!! I have a 1999 7.3L as a daily driver and it didn稚 cost $45, $55, $65 or $75K!!

I have a 2014 250 with the 6.7, it's been in the shop three times in 150,000 miles, a radiator shortly after I bought the truck replaced under warranty, vacume pump replacement at 140,000 miles due to a gasket leak, and my favorite exhaust system replacement after some scum sucking bottom feeder cut everything from the down pipe just in front of the cross-member to right in front of the rear axle. I do get a DEF Heater error right now depending on the temperature so I need to replace the heater.

It's my observation that the majority of the reliability issues attributed to the 6.7 PSD, with the exception of some engineering issues on the Gen 1 engines, are traceable to improper dealer service.

The 6,7 is a nightmare POS. Maybe better but still junk. 7.3 was the best ever.

FWIW - I have a 2016 F250, 6.2 with 67K miles. Never seen a warning light come on. Its a rock solid truck, I love it. The only issue I have is the drivers door speaker keeps cutting out. But if I wiggle the wire bundle between the frame and door, it works again for a while. I suppose it must be a bad wire connector. But that is just a minor annoyance.

The 6.7 can be a great reliable engine once you delete all the emissions equipment, unfortunately they are making that harder to do.

I do agree if OP doesn't tow REAL heavy a 6.2 gasser is a great option. The new 7.3 might be, too, but I don't think we know. We're talking about the manufacturer who brought us TFI, TTB, AOD, C2 ps pumps, and a slew of crappy 3V engines...so I'd like to see what the new 7.3 is doing at 100k miles

But for the 6.2....just change the plugs every 100k. You will eventually get catalyst efficiency codes, mine started at 130k, most seem to go much longer. Since we don't have inspections I refuse to replace the cats but there are other options

Otherwise OP, you already own a nice truck - just enjoy it!

Should probably start another thread for this but I have the same problem with passenger door on my 15' 6.2L.
Pls let me know if you find the culprit?

I've read that the connectors are prone to corrosion. But I'm leary of trying to pull the door apart to get to it. I may take it to a car sound shop and let them do it.
