Swap C6 for 5 speed

Swap C6 for 5 speed
This summer I'm planning on swapping the C6 in my 77 F250 with some kind of 5 speed, but this is my first time doing anything of this magnitude. So I was wondering if any of you folks with more knowledge could suggest a solid 5 speed with OD I could use. Id prefer an automatic but I've considered a manual. Any advice with adapters or the process itself would be awesome too. By the way my truck currently has a 460 motor, a C6 trans, and an NP205 transfer case.
