My Excursion with 900 gallons of Jet A ( 7.3 loves the stuff ) and the Fox shocks Helo and Raptor. ( yes he developed the shocks for ford )
The owner has forgotten more about shocks then I will ever know, he is THE shock guru ! holds more shock patents then any other person or company.
i have been out building Hammer Town for King of The Hammers off road race for the past 3 weeks and he will be one of 4 helos we use this week for filming the race.
Ok, I was just curious because of the differences between the two fuels. A friend of mine was a vaporhead at SJAFB and used to do the same but he stopped. Jet A is more “dry” but Diesel is made(or additives are mixed in) to lubricate the injector system. The viscosity is also different, Jet A is lower viscosity than Diesel #2. Lower lubricity is likely as the viscosity decreases. This may not cause catastrophic instant damage, but it may cause long-term wear of pumps, injectors. Diesel 2 is made with a required cetane number(ASTM D975 - minimum of 40). The ASTM specs for Jet A(ASTM D1655) has no minimum cetane rating. Because cetane pertains to compression ignition engines and has no meaning in turbine engines.
