2019 or 2020

Ok have a dilemma I can get a new 2019 Lariat with some up grades, 5th wheel prep, Ultimate camera package and the Lariat value package for around $61,000 and some change or I can order one with the spruce green and every option I ever dream of for $73,000. Is the 2020 worth the extra $12,000 both are diesel I’m have a F250 6.2 now

If you can afford either one, you might as well get the 2020 at this point.

I was in the same position a few months ago and decided to get a a 2019 with a tried and true 6 speed. The other changes were irrelevant to me and being a first model year of the new 10 speed I said no way as I absolutely hate the way my wife's new F150 with the 10 speed shifts. Back in 2011 I bought a 2011 F250, which was the first year of the 6R140, and to this day it still doesn't shift right so I will never buy a first model year of anything ever again. To each his own I guess but you could make a 2019 pretty badass with the $12k you saved. If it was $2500 or something then I would go for a 2020 but $12k difference I would pass personally..

I bought my 19 F450 at the end of September with over $10k off. It has been perfect and I don’t think I would need any more power. We full time RV and my 14k # 42 foot camper is not hindering my HP and Torqe at all.

I'd get the 2019, unless there is something that you really can't live without that the 2019 can't be had with.

I was int he same boat, I ended up with the 19. Just too many changes for me. As others have said, with 12000 in savings, the 19 will be hard to pass up. Best of luck in your decision, I doubt you will regret either one.

Same boat two weeks ago. I could get a loaded lariat with almost every option, or order a 2020 and nix the sun roof and the led lights and the adaptive cruise, etc. I chose (haha...my wife chose) the creature comforts of the 19 over the 20.

I upgraded from a 17 6.2 SRW 250 to a ‘19 DRW 350. I’m perfectly happy with my choice.

Same boat for me last month. I ended up emailing dealer to get a price on a 2020 F-450 lariat but when they gave me $17,000 off the sticker of a 2019 F-450 limited, it was a no brained for me. I would have chanced the new drive train even though I would have been nervous about it until proven. Since I went from a 6.2 gasser to the 2019 6.7, it is still a huge upgrade for towing my fifth wheel.

Are these two trucks basically like for like? If they are for the most part the same, but the 19 is $12k less, then I would go 19.

If you have money to burn....... and can live with the 2019 set up / accessories, then why pay 12k more. But if there is something you absolutely needed then your have to get the truck that satisfies you needs....which ever you buy there is always questioning yourself....if you get the 2019 you may wish you got the 2020 or vise versa.
its all up to you.......Good luck

A minority of 2020 truck purchasers quickly dismiss even the potential possibility of issues with the new model year. I don't. Just in the past 10 years ford has some pretty good failures and a long history of not fixing troubles.

I like this comment that I quoted.
