Exhaust Kits
Thanks
For my trucks I've just run straight pipes after the cat. On the Bronco I had a muffler shop make a y pipe for me and some curved pipes based on drawings and templates (welding rod) that I brought to them. I made it exit out the rear (dual exit, one on each side of the tank) and it was a mistake. I drive with the rear window down alot and I could smell the exhaust in the truck. I took it off and put the stock side exit pipe back on.
I know on the Bronco (89) that the cat was 3" in 2 1/4" out. I though about modifying to 3" out but I never did. Has anyone tried this?
As for the kits, if they use a 3" in muff, then they should include an adaptor. I looked at a flowmaster system diagram for the 87-96 f150 and it looks like it uses an adaptor before the muffler to go from 2 1/4 to 3".
Good luck.
