When I bought the truck the bumper was (and still is) pretty damn dented. PO hit something pretty hard on the passenger side. Question I have is if anyone has any specific tips to bending this back? Already planning on applying a lot of heat and hammering away and seeing what that does. Any other specific tips would be appreciated.
That's about it. Heat liberally at the bends until they are near plastic state and it should come back straight without much hammering at all. Mine looked about the same and that's all I did. Oxy-Acetylene torch, of course.
Where is the grill guard that was bolted to that bumper? Based on the 6 extra holes it had one. Also looks like maybe some grill damage where the brace went through to the frame. I'd love to have a factory grill guard for my truck and if I can't find one when the truck is done I'll probably build a replica of the factory part.
I've still got it. It did get bent up a bit, but that could probably be straightened out if someone was dedicated enough. Just decided it didn't fit the look I was going for.
That's a good point, John. I may look to that as an option if I can't get this straightened out. I've blown my budget for the last few months so I'm trying to keep things as low cost as possible for the near future.
