I've a 2007 Ford Ranger double cab. It has a 118" wheelbase. Truckbed is 6'.
Now I want to put a 7' truckbed on it. Because of bad condition of old truckbed I've to replace it and because of Dutch tax rules I want to put a bigger one on it.
For that I've to change the wheelbase to 126".
What I found on the internet is that the Ranger in the US has standard 126". So it must be possible to mine as well. But do I have to swap the complete frame, extend the frame or just change the position of the rear axle.
no experience, but most customs here either chop or stretch the frame by inserting a frame section. Needs to be reinforced (boxed) and then make sure it is welded properly. Maybe a section added and a insert is placed in the frame to reinforce a C section in a C section of frame of the same dimensions. Make sure to extend past the cut frame to ensure strength.
