Remote start not working

Last Friday the remote start on my 2015 XLT 302A w/86,500+ miles quit working. I got busy over the weekend and didn't think about it. Tried to start the truck this morning and was reminded that the remote start doesn't work. The battery was replaced a couple of months ago and all was working fine. There are no odd lights or other indicators. Not sure if there are any codes as I don't have a code reader. Any thoughts as to why this would just mysteriously stop working? I tried both fobs and the results were the same.

Couple things I've seen - make sure the remote start system is still enabled in the cluster menu. Next, try disconnecting your trucks battery for 5-10 min and reconnect. That worked for another forum member though I can't seem to find the post now...

I think you'll need to re-enable 1 touch auto windows after disconnecting the battery (put window down, then all the way up and hold until click, same with passenger side).

First off I would try a fresh battery. They’re like anything else, can get a bad one once in a while

Was the battery replaced in the fob or the truck?

Truck. Replaced with the same one you used.

I need to look at that. As I remember, I was looking thru the menus but I don't remember changing anything.

Truck spins over and starts like a champ with the key so I am ruling out the new battery.

sorry I was more clear. I was speaking of your FOB battery. Be nice if it just your dash settings. Good luck

So far mine has outlasted the OEM and is still going strong.

Like mentioned above, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Some of the Googling I did pointed in that direction.

I’m going to echo what was suggested above - replace the battery in the fob. That may fix your problem.

I had the battery in my fob die; worked when I went to the store, was dead when I left the store. New fib battery, and all was fine.

Do you have a second fob? If you do, try the remote start using that fob and see what happens.

Tried both Fobs, same result.

I’d still try new fob batteries - just in case both are dead. Have nothing to lose anyway by having new batteries.

Speaking of fob, there is a small led on the fob that should give you some feedback. If it's blinking red (indicating no start) I would think fob battery is still good and issue is on truck side or you're out of range. Keep us posted.

I'm pretty sure, 99.9%, it's not the fob. I get the blinking red indicator. I will keep everyone posted.

Make sure your hood is shut tight too; remote start won’t work if it’s not latched completely.
