Re-Introductions
I thought I would start a new thread for current active members to introduce themselves. I was thinking maybe your first name if you'd like as well as what area of the state you are in, what truck you're driving, hobbies, whatever you want to share. Also love to hear about any annual events in your area. Truck pictures are always welcome.
As for me, the name is Clifton. I live in Caraway, small town, kind of just out of the way, equal distance from Osceola and Jonesboro in Craighead county. Used to be quite the place. The annual 4th of July picnic isn't what it used to be, fall festival is the bigger one these days. But there's usually a car show on the fourth as well as one or two more a couple of local business host(managed to miss all of them though). My truck is an '82 F-100 with a 300 6. It's scattered all over right now, but will soon be back together and on the road. I haven't decided if I like working on it or driving it more, although it looks like the former considering I drove it two weeks and have had it apart for over a year! Outside of being a Ford enthusiast I enjoy fishing and am lucky enough to have a public fishing pond here in town. I spend about half my time on these forums in the Bullnose section. If you have any questions or wanna chew the fat I'd love to hear from you.

Been working on my 78 F150, almost got it to the point for driving. Then I get to start on a 76 F250. It had an engine compartment fire, I've gotten part of it rewired. Then a 79 F250 4x4, 52 F1, 70 F100 4x4.
I do have couple of suggestions. Start a BS and chat thread. Let everyone talk about there family ( if they want). There work on other projects, don't have to be a Ford project. Even if they have a good or bad day at work. Even the garden if that pleases them.
What do you think.

my current project is a 1983 f150 4x4 that I’m swapping in a 351 w from a 300-6. I’ve slowly been gathering parts and cleaning and painting. I recently got engine perches and accessorie brackets and pulleys from a junk yard. I plan to blast and paint later this week. The motor is a late 5.8 converted to carb. I’m trying to keep it as close to a factory 351 HO as possible. All belts hoses and such should be stock items.
the future for this truck is gonna be a 65 or 66 body on this running gear. This is a very low mile truck that sat way too long.
been driving a 2003 Ford F-250 with the beloved 6.0 for 384236 miles and for 13.6 years...
shes bit€h!e as ever, but strong as an OX!

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Fixed it up a little, drove it for a few months, then sold it for $1400 right before I turned 18 to buy a 1994 Mustang GT convertible. Eventually bought it back 2 years later from that guy for the same price I sold it for. It had some sentimental value.
A few months back I picked up a used 1985 F-150 engine for $300. Stock 300 I6. That went to the machine shop on Friday, along with:
Comp Cams 268
Comp Lifters 832-12
Comp steel timing gear set 3224
Comp Valve Springs 903-12
Comp Valve Locks 601-12
Comp Valve Seals 502-12
Also have some new Moog front end parts. Will be going with a Redhead steering gear box. I have heard really good things from my buddy that got one of theirs for his Dodge. New rotors, pads, bearings, seals, etc. New power steering hoses.
All new AC components going on with the new engine.
The current plan is to get it running with the 1 barrel setup for a while until I can set the money aside for the Holley Sniper 2300 kit. I used the 4150 Sniper on my 351 "race car" and I've loved it.
I figure I will clean up the engine bay in the 1983 while the motor is out. A power steering leak in the pressure hose and oil from the valve cover/breather sprayed it down good with little droplets.
She needs some TLC, but hopefully by the summertime, she'll be as good as new (or better)!
My other baby, the "race car":
A lot of my time the past few months has been spent getting the "race car" ready to AutoCross at War Memorial and run at Hallett in Tulsa. I just popped a beefier rear sway bar on last night and that helped a lot.
The truck may see some duty as a hauling vehicle for the Mustang if I go to a Hallett track day in April like I am planning to. BUT my dad just got this new sweet thing Saturday, so I am thinking of getting him to get it on the track instead

Thanks to Clifton for working to get the Chapter going. I can't commit to doing a ton, but would love to have a small meet sometime (after I get the truck fixed up a little...I've been as far as Clinton and Russellville in it, but it wasn't fun lol). If anyone goes to the swap meets near them, be sure to post here so we can all consider attending.
I joined the chapter in '06 but have been kicking around the forum since '99. With long hiatuses in between
Breaking it down
As far as the mad max- stripped down tub, full cage, tube front clip w fiberglass pannels, radiator relocation behind driver, fuel cell ect ect-
basically Baja on steroids.
Probably going to end up in the middle. Baja mudtoy-but still cruisable.
